The California state legislature recently passed a bill which the governor signed into law on August 31. This bill is known as the “Tenant Relief Act of 2020″ or AB-3088. This piece of legislation has numerous elements to it that impact the residential rental industry. I have taken numerous phone calls and emails from clients recently regarding this bill and as a result, wanted to provide an informational video summarizing the key pieces that can have an effect on each of you as rental property owners. Thus far, we are happy to report that 100% of our rental portfolio have “paid-as-agreed” throughout the entirety of the pandemic and are hopeful that this trend continues as we approach the fall and winter seasons. In the event that we have issues in future months, AB-3088 is the legislation that has been passed that provides us with the framework on how we are to proceed.
